Laboratory Instruments > Sensor Technology

We have developed a unique range of electro-chemical sensors, which provide rapid analysis results in situ. The Palintest range of sensor technology offers precision instruments that provide a simple, rapid, reagent-free method of analysing water for chlorine, chlorine dioxide, lead or copper.

1.ChloroSense

The revolutionary ChloroSense from Palintest is a unique sensor system developed specifically for measuring free and total chlorine.
NEW - Sample temperature up to 35°C
Software updates are available to upgrade your ChloroSense, to request this please email Chlorosense@palintest.com . Please provide your serial number and location, we would also be grateful if you could supply us with application information in this request. A response email containing the software files and "How to" instructions will be sent.
Waterproof, rugged and portable
Reads up to 75 mg/l*
Patented electrode technology
No reagents required
USB port for easy computer connection
Designed for field analysis, the waterproof rugged unit is easy to carry to any monitoring site, and requires no chemical reagents. Free and total chlorine measurements are carried out simultaneously in around 55s and a digital readout gives both readings, which are also stored in the data log for later uploading to computer via the USB port.
ChloroSense needs no chemical reagents. Measurements are made using a unique replaceable printed electrode system designed and manufactured by Palintest. ChloroSense sensors are specific, precise, accurate and stable. They bring a completely new approach to on-site chlorine measurement. ChloroSense provides on the spot measurement of both high and low levels of chlorine and is not dependent on operator technique. * above 75 mg/l, result displayed as range 75-85 mg/l or 85 - 100mg/l

2.ChlordioXense

The new ChlordioXense builds on the success of the ChloroSense and uses similar sensor technology to measure chlorine dioxide. The Palintest ChlordioXense is a precision instrument that offers a simple, rapid, reagent-free method of analysing water for chlorine dioxide, removing almost all sources of technique dependence.
Features · Simple and easy to use
· Avoids issues that occur with colorimetric methods
· Wide test range, accurate from 0.02 - 50 mg/l
· Temperature sample up to 40 C

3. ChlordioX™ Plus

As seen at Indowater 2011 the new ChlordioX™ Plus forms part of the Palintest sensor family which includes the ChloroSense® and the ChlordioXense. The instrument uses patented disposable sensor technology and a unique sequential method to measure Free Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide and Chlorite across a range of applications including drinking water and produce washing. The ChlordioX™ Plus features:
• Test for Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide and Chlorite
• Simple operation for all levels of users
• Wide operating ranges for all parameters
• No interference from sample solids or colour
• Superior analytical performance compared to DPD or Lissamine Green methods

4. SA1100 Scanning Analyzer

The new SA1100 Scanning Analyzer represents a step forward in testing for lead and copper in water.
The product uses a unique system to greatly simplify the heavy metal testing process. Years of research have resulted in the development of a disposable electrode which can quickly and accurately detect the presence and concentration of potentially harmful heavy metals such as lead and copper in a variety of sample types.
Left-over or leaked deposits of these substances are known to be toxic, and can be a serious 'hidden' hazard; over the years legislation has been progressively introduced to combat the threat. The new technology developed by Palintest means that thorough testing can be carried out on-site and in very little time – less than 60 seconds for most samples, and only 3 minutes even for drinking water.
The testing process is very simple for the whole range of test parameters, with on-screen prompts and a menu-driven program displayed on the LCD. Once the sample has been prepared with a conditioning tablet, a calibrated, disposable sensor is inserted into the instrument and then immersed in the test sample. The majority of tests are then completed in less than 1 minute, varying with the type of application. As well as instant display of results, up to 500 are stored in the unit's memory and can be downloaded to a PC via a waterproof USB connection. Normal operation is powered by 4 AA batteries for easy and efficient portability.
