5. Comparators and Discs (Pool)

Comparator tests use visual standards to assess the colour produced when reagents are added to a sample of water. Tablet reagents are used with these kits for maximum simplicity and convenience. The Palintest Comparator with interchangeable colour discs is so simple to use - just add the tablet reagent to the test sample, place in the comparator and match against the appropriate disc. Colour discs are available for a complete range of water test parameters. Palintest discs are produced by the latest technology which enables the colours to be printed from a palette of over two million different shades - ensuring a perfect match against the colours product in each test. The long-lasting, wipe-clean polyacrylate discs conform to international dimensions and can be used in most standard comparators. Palintest colour discs are manufactured using colourfast inks and light resistant materials. There should be no loss of colour integrity of the standards with time.
In a series of trials in which colour standards were subjected to continuous ultra-violet light for a period of one month, and to natural unshaded daylight for a period of one year, no loss of colour was observed. Users can confidently expect Palintest colour discs to give many years of satisfactory service under the recommended conditions of use and storage. The Palintest comparator and discs are available in complete test kit form or separately for use with existing equipment. It is easy to choose a water test kit to suit your application - whether it is just for one test parameter or for a dozen!

6. Contour Comparator

The new Contour Comparator offers an excellent solution to visual testing requirements. Features include:
• Compact size with grip feature for ease of handling
• Discrete colour disc for definite results
• Single and dual parameter kits including reagents and accessories
The Contour Comparator is suitable for professional and occasional use. The unique contoured rear of the comparator is designed for comfort and grip in even the most challenging environment.

7. CoolPooltester

Your swimming pool is meant to be enjoyed, but the water must be tested regularly to ensure bather comfort and to protect against dangerous bacteria such as E.coli. Traditional pool testing works by taking a sample of water and adding a reagent tablet. The resulting colour then has to be visually compared against a colour chart. The new state-of-the-art CoolPooltester works differently: by reading the colour electronically and giving an instant, accurate numerical readout, it eliminates human error and reduces hassle. The CoolPooltester uses a similar technology to the photometers used by professionals, but is easy enough for anyone to use.
The CoolPooltester instrument is no longer available but reagents and spares are still supplied for existing customers.

8. Pooltester Kits

The Pooltester blocks are manufactured in durable clear polyacrylate and have long-lasting printed colour standards. Pooltester kits (except SP 315) are supplied in a pocket-sized case which may be used either free-standing or wall mounted. This range of kits is further supplemented by tests based on the Palintest tablet count method, and a test for cyanuric acid stabiliser level using a turbidity method. Palintest's Pooltest test kits use safe DPD and phenol red tablets for a quick and simple check on pool or spa chemistry. The new Pooltest kits couldn't be simpler to use: simply dip the test block in the water, add the tablets then read the result from the colour scale.

9. Test Strips

Ideal for the occasional user, Palintest's new test strips provide a quick and easy method of estimating basic pool and spa chemistry. Palintest test strips are available in two varieties - one for chlorine users and one for bromine users, with 50 tests in each bottle. The full range of common pool chemistry values is covered: pH 6.4 - 8.4; alkalinity 0 - 240 mg/litre; free chlorine and bromine 0 - 10 mg/litre. The test strips are waved gently in the pool water for five seconds and then compared with the colour chart on the bottle after a further 15 seconds. For a more comprehensive testing regime, Palintest also offer a range of pooltester kits for the private pool or spa owner. Just dip the Pooltester block into the pool to fill with water, add test tablets and then compare the colours using standard approved test chemistries. The test ranges covered by these kits include chlorine (free), bromine, pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness and cyanuric Acid. The Pooltester kits are a quick and easy way for the routine control of private pools and spas.
