6. Photometer 8000

The Palintest Photometer 8000 sets a new standard for water quality testing and ease of operation. It is designed to provide accurate and fast analysis for even the busiest test labs. Covering the full range of tests for clean and wastewater, it is compatible with all Palintest tablet and liquid photometer tests. With no moving parts, all measurements are made instantly, providing a very fast sample throughput. Compatible Palintest Tubetests reagent tubes are coded to provide all the instrument needs for wavelength range and calibration set-up and analysis. The instrument recognizes the tube method and measurement range and automatically sets up for a measurement. The user simply pushes in the tube and the instrument does the rest! The unique multi-size cell holder adjusts automatically to all reagent tubes from 12 mm – 20 mm diameter with no inserts or adaptors required, again speeding up analysis, and making the unit very convenient for the routine analysis of large numbers of samples since no manual intervention is required to change ranges or tube sizes. The cell holder is fully jam- and trap-resistant to allow fast and secure tube swapping. With an innovative permanent dual light source, the correct wavelength is automatically selected. A high efficiency light-focusing system provides a very high level of light throughput to the cells. The high intensity sources are up to 10 times brighter than the conventional optics found in other instruments and the optical system eliminates stray light effects, allowing the instrument to be used at maximum precision. 8. Sewage Effluent Kit

The Palintest Sewage Effluent kit provides a simple means of checking the quality of sewage effluents. It is used extensively for control testing at small sewage works. Based on simplified methods of sewage effluent testing, the kit contains tests for the essential quality control checks required for the day-to-day operation of sewage effluent treatment plants. Increasing attention is being paid to the quality of sewage effluents. This is coupled with the imposition of more stringent quality standards. It is important that the condition of sewage effluent discharges be checked to ensure they conform to consent limits. Similarly, the importance of regular testing by sewage works operators as a check on the efficiency of the works is widely recognised. Palintest Sewage Effluent tests have been developed to meet this need. Each of the tests is performed simply without the use of complicated equipment and are suitable without formal training in water testing and analysis. Palintest Sewage Effluent tests are based on those recommended by the Department of the Environment and the Water Research Centre, and accord generally with the methods laid down in "Analysis of Raw, Potable and Waste Waters", published by 'The Stationery Office'.

9. COD Tubetests

Palintest Tubetests are integrated with the Palintest photometer system so as to provide a complete system for COD measurement. Palintest COD Tubetests are offered in four ranges: 150 mg/l, 400 mg/l, 1,000 mg/l, 2,000 mg/l and 20,000 mg/l. The reagent formulations are based on those specified in recognised international standard methods and meet the requirements of conformity testing against national and international standards. Four types are available, allowing the user to choose the most environmentally-friendly product for their application :- § The mercury-free formulation is recommended for general use § The formulation with mercuric sulphate (M) is provided for use in standard procedures which require the suppression of interference due to moderate levels of chloride § The high chloride formulation (2M) provides much higher levels of chloride suppression and is suitable for working with samples with very high chloride levels § The new M/C formulations with mercuric sulphate are specifically for use in non-Palintest instruments, and allow users of compatible instruments to take advantage of the price, quality, and service we offer, whilst using their existing instrumentation. The new product comes in three ranges: up to 150 mg/l, up to 1,500 mg/l and up to 15,000 mg/l.

10. Tubetests for Ammonia, Nitrate and Phosphate Testing

The Tubetests range of tests covers the principal parameters needed for environmental control of waters, effluents and waste waters, and for the testing of agricultural run-off and leachate from landfill sites. In particular, they cover the testing requirements of the UK Urban Waste Water Directive and equivalent legislation in other countries. Ammonia (Ammonia Nitrogen) is one of the main constituents of effluent streams. The Tubetests reagent system offers a choice of test methods based on either the traditional Nessler method, or the most recent Indophenol procedure. For further classification of the nitrogen cycle, tests are available for both Nitrate (Nitrate Nitrogen) and Total Nitrogen. Phosphates promote eutrophication in natural waters. Testing for this parameter is therefore important for environmental control. Tubetests tests are offered for both Phosphate (Phosphate Phosphorus) and for Total Phosphorus.

11. Tubetests Metals

Due to increasing pressure from European legislation there is a growing requirement to carry out routine analysis on waste waters prior to discharge. The Palinest Tubetests Photometer and reagents offer a cost effective, professional system for water analysis, specially developed for environmental monitoring. Tests now include copper, nickel, iron, chromium and zinc, as well as the established COD, Ammonia, Nitrate and Phosphate tests. The reagent system consists of a pre-dispensed tube of mixed acids for hot acid digestion of effluent samples, prior to colorimetric analysis of the metals. Effluent samples may be highly coloured, at extreme pH, contain strongly bound complexed metals or thick precipitates of insoluble material. Acid digestion is used to destroy colour, dissolve precipitates and free metals from complexes, providing and much more reliable and effective test for effluent than conventional water test kits. This wide range of reagents can be used with any multi-parameter Palintest photometer and the Photometer 7000se analytical photometer. Palintest Tubetests Metals:
· Copper, Nickel, Iron, Zinc, Chromium effluent tests.
· Complete with all reagents.
· Measures free and complexed metals.
· Works with wide range of effluents.
